OCTOBER, 2011·

  • Minutes from the September, 2011 meeting were not read as Bill was not in attendance.
  • Lou Johnson gave an accounting of the patches finances.
  • Sylvia Nelson talked about the CGS raffle tickets, that they are for the gourd baskets that each patch is creating.  These baskets will contain smaller gourds that each patch member will craft.  The baskets will be raffled in April 2012 in Visalia.  The tickets are $1.00 each.
  • Patch dues are due in January, 2012.
  • One more "garage sale" of Larry MacClellan's estate items was held at this meeting.  What didn't sell will either be sold at a garage sale by Patti Brown or donated to a thrift store.  A big THANK YOU to Lou Johnson for all her work on the estate sale that was held in May.
  • Discussion was held on the patches booth at Sloughhouse/Davis Ranch.
    • It was suggested that we either don't use the card table next time, or cover it in black to match the other tables.
    • Sylvia encouraged members to take part in the pre-festival classes next year to ensure that we continue have classes available.  It was suggested that organizing the classes begin earlier in the year to ensure their success.  More advertising is recommended.
    • Emma had a question regarding the children's booth.  Patti is considering manning a children's booth next year.
    • Davis Ranch is going to change the week that the festival is held.  It will be the 3rd week of September instead of the 2nd.
    • Barbara thanked everyone for their participation in this festival.
    • The booth location was good and it is recommended that we request the same location next year.
  • Meeting location...Susan DeGuerra found a meeting place for our patch.  We are loosing the Little Red School House location due to budget restraints.  She found a room at a Senior Center by Bradshaw/Goethe/Mayhew.  We will start meeting here in January, 2012 to see if it works for us.  Susan will check further into the details of this location.
  • November meeting.  Sylvia will be teaching David Snook's beading technique following our regular monthly meeting.  See the Classes page for further details.
  • December meeting.  Barbara Ripitoe has gratiously offered her home for our December holiday potluck.  Food signups are being circulated.  Bring a gourdament, wrapped and contained in a plain brown paper bag for the gourdament exchange.
  • Someone asked about the Sutter Hospital craft fair - it is not being held this year, there was not enough interest.
